As specialists in rest home, hospital and respite care, we’re dedicated to providing a higher level of comfort, dignity and respect through all aspects of our care. Our team of caring and committed healthcare professionals goes above and beyond to deliver excellent care to our residents, every day.
Guided by purpose, not profit
Shalom Court is a non-profit organisation, which means profits are used to improve our services, train and resource staff to provide high-quality care, and ensure our residents get the most out of life.
A faith-based approach
Shalom Court was established in 1969 as Auckland’s only Jewish aged care facility. Today, we continue to celebrate Jewish values and practices, while also welcoming and respecting all cultures and beliefs.
Professional, specialised staff
Our small size and high staff-to-resident ratio means we can provide more attentive care. Our team of highly dedicated health professionals are specialists in aged care, including GP and physiotherapy care.
High quality, holistic care
We work closely with our residents’ families to provide attentive, holistic care that nurtures all aspects of our residents’ wellbeing, including their social, mental, emotional, physical and spiritual needs.
While the word ‘Shalom’ has many meanings, in ancient Hebrew it means ‘to make something whole – an overall sense of fullness and completeness in mind and body’. And that’s what we aim to do every day here at Shalom Court – provide attentive, personalised care so our residents can live more complete and fulfilled lives.
Our care commitment
We’re committed to going above and beyond to provide high-quality, individual care to each and every resident.
As a faith-based organisation, we’re committed to treating everyone with kindness, compassion and respect.
We’re committed to respecting the diverse faiths, cultures, backgrounds and beliefs of our residents.
We’re committed to embracing the Eden Alternative – a philosophy of care that puts our residents at the centre of everything we do.
We’re committed to ensuring that everything we do, from meals to activities to daily care, enhances our residents’ wellbeing and fullness of life.
We’re committed to knowing our residents by name and treating you as individuals.
